Charles Fredrick “Fred” Beckort, 86, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at his home.
Fred was born in Spencer County on June 10, 1934, to the late Roy and Mabel (Adams) Beckort.
Fred attended Lincoln Hills Baptist Church and had worked for the Spencer County Highway Department.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Beckort, who passed in 2019, and his daughter, Debra June Yifrah.
Fred is survived by his children, Peggy Hardy and her husband, Kerry, of Chrisney and Marcia Beckort of Rockport,; stepchildren, Susan Lester, Darrell Tharp, Dean Tharp, Patricia Horn and Pamela Barfelz; his sister, Margie Schraner; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 10, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor David Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m., Friday, October 9, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
