Curran Ray Wilkinson, 85, of Chrisney passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
Curran was born in Spencer County on August 11, 1939, to Paul and Dorothy (Pearson) Wilkinson.
Curran was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and attended Bloomfield Wesley Chapel. He served in the United States Army, was a member of Richland Masonic Lodge #702, Hadi Shrine of Evansville, Legion of Honor, and Elberfeld American Legion.
Curran was active with Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Lincoln State Park, Walk to Emmaus, Spencer County 4-H, where he judged the woodworking projects for many years, and Chrisney High School Alumni Association.
He had worked as an equipment operator for Peabody Coal-Lynnville Mine for many years, had driven a school bus, and loved woodworking.
In addition to his parents, Curran was preceded in death by his niece, Deann Gosma.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda (Moorehead) Wilkinson, whom he married on January 26, 1963; his children, Dan Wilkinson (Emilie) of Chrisney and Erin Vaal of Chrisney; his grandchildren, Cody VanWinkle (Deedra) and Lauren Vaal; his great grandchildren, Isabella VanWinkle and Remi VanWinkle; his siblings, Jean Gosma, Karen Bryant, Keith Wilkinson and Becky Rubenstein.
Services were held Saturday, May 17 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with Pastors Adrienne Tanner and Paul Giles officiating. Burial followed at Midway Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation was held Friday, May 16 with a Shrine walk-through and Masonic Service at the funeral home.
