Heritage Hills High School athletic department held an awards night last week Tuesday for athletes in Volleyball, Football and Cross Country. Ceremonies were held in the high school auditorium, followed by refreshments and cookies, also furnished by the school.

CROSS COUNTRY AWARDS — Left to right: Coach Steve Merkel, Kenney Goldman awarded most valuable to cross country team, John Huebschman and Doug Stroud, team members.

Coach Steve Merkel presented cross country awards to Kenny Goldman, John Huebschman and Doug Stroud.

FOOTBALL AWARDS — Left to right: Steve Winkler, best defensive back; Phil Kress, best offensive lineman; Stan Neighbors, best offensive back and most valuable player as voted by the team.

Coach Roger Snow presented football awards to Steve Winkler (best defensive back), Phil Kress (best offensive lineman), Stan Neighbors (offensive back and most valuable player).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL AWARD — Left to right: Gloria Buechler, Dianna Hemmer, Gayle Zion [presents award in absence of Coach Becky Polster], Kelley Snow, Gayle Estes relieves award [voted by team as most valuable player], Robin Braun and Gerri Collignon.

Gayle Zion presented awards in there absence of Coach Becky Estes won the team’s most valuable player award. Other’s honored were Goloria Buechler, Dianna Hemmer, Kelly
