Doraetta Neal, 94, of Rockport, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Landmark of Kuttawa Nursing Center in Kuttawa, Kentucky.
Doraetta was born in Atlanta, Illinois on April 23, 1927, to the late Walter A. Woodruff and Nellie (Polley) Woodruff.
She had attended Bethel Christian Center in Rockport for many years. Doraetta was a hairdresser and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Neal in 2019 and a half-brother, Clarence Woodruff.
Doraetta is survived by her children, Dora Jean Perry and her husband, Gene of Henderson, Kentucky and Steve Neal and his wife, Marilyn of Kuttawa, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jason Perry, Vanessa Mayer and Marissa Wetzel; great-grandchildren, Abbie, Jake, Dayne, Knox, Griffin, Kaeden, Blakely and Lily; sisters-in-law, Betty Neal, Geneva Loyd and Vivian Neal.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 23, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Brother Walter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport.
Visitation is from 1 until 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
