Edward J. Rumage, 61, of Rockport, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
Ed was born in Evansville, on October 1, 1960, to Regina (Koch) (Rumage) Forler and James S. Rumage Sr.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, James S. Rumage and his stepfather, Tyrus V. Forler, as well as his grandparents, John and Mary (Seibert) Koch, and Joseph and Dorothy (Kaelin) Rumage.
Ed worked in various occupations including oil and coal industries, painting/wallpapering, and restaurants. He spent most of the 90s living in the Florida Keys where he was very active with the Moose Lodge. His greatest passion was cooking for and feeding those around him. After his cooking, Ed was happiest when he was able to help others.
He is survived by his mother, Regina Forler; brothers, James (Teresa) Rumage, Mike (Marsha) Rumage, Greg (Angie) Rumage and Jeff (Laura) Rumage; sisters, Elaine (Bill) Mitchell, Jeannine (David) Wise, Andrea (Rick) Meinert and Anita (Brian) Corne; stepbrothers, Neil (Rita) Forler and Eric (Diane) Forler as well as one stepsister, Celeste (Doug) Teaford. Ed had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved and of whom he was very proud.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 6, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Father Christopher Forler officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery in Santa Claus.
Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
