The Fulda Sportsman Club was built in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the venue has served as a place for the local community to gather and celebrate various special events in their lives.
In the half a century it’s been around, the Fulda Sportsman Club has hosted thousands of weddings, anniversary parties, family reunions and, of course, the famous Fulda dances that attracted teens from Spencer, Dubois and Perry counties — and beyond.
To celebrate and commemorate this special occasion, Fulda Sportsman Club will once again be hosting a Fulda Dance on November 9. The event will last from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. CDT. Entry fee is $10 per person. Beer by Louie’s and food will be available, and music will be provided by the band Overdrive.
In order to celebrate the many weddings that have taken place there over the years, Fulda Sportsman Club also hopes to share some favorite wedding photos — taken at Fulda — over the last five decades. Anyone whose wedding was held at Fulda and who would like to share photos of their big day is encouraged to email the photo (or photos, along with names and date of the wedding) to [email protected] to be shared on the Sportsman Club’s Facebook page.
