Gloria Ann (Pounds) Young, 87, born January 27, 1933, in Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully in a care facility in Franklin, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. She had been in declining health for the past few years. Gloria was a unique and wonderful treasure to all her friends and acquaintances.
Gloria, who retired from Welborn Clinic in Evansville, particularly enjoyed being surrounded by nature, being especially fond of trees, flowers, birds, and a beautiful sky. She was very talented in the arts of painting, music, sewing, and cooking. She loved reading and searching maps for a travel adventure, while looking forward to spending time with family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Joseph Young; her son, Jeffrey Frank; her sister, Linda McDonald (Ken); her brother, Timothy Pounds (Shirley); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Mary Pounds; her siblings, Patsy Pounds, Larry Pounds and Billy Pounds.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, on Saturday, August 8, at 1 p.m. Boultinghouse Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.
