Every year Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari hosts an event called Play Day for those with special needs who get to spend the day at the park. With Covid-19 still very much a problem, Holiday World has postponed their opening until June; therefore Play Day could not happen.Â
With play day canceled due to the safety of all concerned, the Heritage Hills Special Education Department brought Play Day to the students. Department members brought flowers for the students to present to their moms for Mothers Day, activities for them to enjoy, and also popcorn and a bag of their favorite flavor of cotton candy.Â
A few were surprised when staff members shot them with a water squirter to give them a hint of that Raging Rapids ride rush.Â
