Milton D. Pledger, 73, passed away on November 22, 2022.
He was born December 29, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, son of the late Douglas and Hazle (Yocham) Pledger.
Milton was united in marriage on June 28, 1968, in Mesquite, Texas, to Judy Sorrells.
He had worked as a maintenance inspector for the Spencer County Courthouse. Milton was a man of faith and had ministered at Tell City Church of Christ, Lilly Dale Church of Christ, Agape’ Fellowship, Community Christian Church, Foster’s Ridge Christian Church and Taswell Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, his animals, being with his family and friends and loved days with lots of sunshine.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Pledger; children, Keith Pledger (Kim) of Santa Claus, Kim Smith (Jeff) of Santa Claus and Kirk Pledger (Kellie) of Louisville; sister, Charlotte Oehlschaeger of Denton, TX, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Wanda Anderson and Jo Flohr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, at Redemption Christian Church-Tell City Campus with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday at Redemption Christian Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. and also after the service from 12-2 p.m. where there will be light refreshments, celebration and remembrance.
Memorial contributions may be made to Joy of Hope Ministry which supports Master’s Children’s Ministry, that the Smith-Pledger family started, located in Uganda, Africa.
