April showers brought May flowers, and the area’s bee population is ready to put those spring blooms to use. Local hives have been building up their workforce in anticipation of the summer season, ready to retrieve nectar and build up stores of honey for winter. Area beekeepers are getting ready for the busy months to come as well, keeping tabs on their own hives and working to corral wild swarms into safe havens, in exchange for some of their product of course. 

The Honey House at Forston Farms recently opened a permanent location on County Road 950W, just west of Hatfield and a short hop south from State Road 66.
