SANTA CLAUS – The Spencer County Regional Chamber of Commerce held its 23rd annual dinner Wednesday, April 19, in the Celebration Room of Santa’s Lodge. The keynote speaker was Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner, joined by North Spencer Superintendent Dan Scherry and South Spencer Superintendent Brad Schneider. Naturally, the primary theme of the evening was education.
Gathered chamber members and guests were treated to a performance by Heritage Hills Choirs. Unfortunately, South Spencer choir members had another engagement. Reverend Jill Kaetzel of Noel United Methodist Church gave the opening blessing, followed by dinner courtesy of Carodella’s Catering.
Pat Koch once again found herself in the position of welcoming a state dignitary to her neighborhood, serving as emcee for the evening. Before ushering Jenner to the podium for her speech, however, Koch asked the room to observe a moment of silence for Rockport Mayor Don Winkler.
