Chicago is known as ‘the Windy City’.

But Petersburg certainly featured a very strong breeze, as well, during the Heritage Hills softball team’s matchup with Pike Central.

And unfortunately for the Lady Pats, they didn’t seem to fare too well against the host Chargers in the windy conditions.

In a battle of conference and post-season rivals, Heritage Hills couldn’t hold down Pike Central’s offensive attack and was blown away by a 12-2 five-inning setback last Monday night in Petersburg.

“They’re in our sectional. They beat Jasper, and they beat us. There’s some teams in our sectional who can play, but Pike Central is definitely favored at this point,” concluded Asbury. “We’ll have to keep working and if we get a chance to play them again, we just can’t make mistakes where we give their best players opportunities to win the game. Sectional is a big change. When you’re going over to Jasper, that plays in people’s heads. We welcome the chance to play them again. Why not?”
