In its effort to assist people in need in our community, Paddle Perry and local coffee shop Small Town Java are partnering to provide community craft days.

Participants will crochet or learn to crochet during the event as they create plastic mats to donate to a local charity that helps homeless folks in the area. These mats are great for layering sleeping pads on top — keeping the individuals who use them off the ground and dry.

Join Paddle Perry and Small Town Java on Sunday, April 30 from 1-3 p.m. at the Tell City Regional Arts Building and help prep the plarn (plastic yarn) for later crochet dates.

Mark your calendars for Sundays, October 1, 8, 15 and/or 22 between the hours of 3-5 p.m. CDT for “Craft Day” when participants will be crocheting the mats.

The events will be held at 125 9th Street, Suite A, in Tell City.

Plastic bag donations at two locations will be accepted up until “Craft Day”. Consider donating to this project by dropping off your plastic bags at Paddle Perry, Inc. at 3270 East State Road 66 in Cannelton or Small Town Java at 1002 9th Street in Tell City during hours of operation.
