Ran off road
Diana Rodriguez, 23, of Dale, was driving on the I-64 eastbound entrance ramp in Dale when she later told police, she swerved to miss a deer in the middle of the roadway and over-corrected, causing her to run off the roadway and strike an embankment. Rodriguez was not injured in the August 3, 9:26 p.m. accident, but damage to her 206 Toyota Sienna was estimated between $1,000-2,500.
Driver cited after collision
Robert William Ryan Alvey, 26, was preparing to make a left turn on CR 800 E from SR 66 when his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was struck from behind by a 2006 Saturn Ion driven by 27-year-old Castillo Lopez of Owensboro. Neither driver was injured in the July 30, 4:58 p.m. collision near Grandview, but Lopez was cited for driving without ever being licensed and following too closely. Total damage was estimated between $5,000-10,000.
Driver injured in run-off
Todd Peter, 52, of Tell City, was traveling on Fulda Shortcut when, a witness later told police, he left the roadway and struck a ditch before eventually striking a utility pole. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that Peter’s leg was pinned between the dashboard and front seat; he was immediately transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for treatment of his injury. According to the report, the accident occurred during heavy rainfall and water was standing on the roadway. Damages in the July 30, 5:43 a.m. accident were estimated between $10,000-25,000.
Ran off road
Shaina Marie Richardson, 28, of Tell City, was southbound on SR 545 near Grandview when, she later told police, she hit a patch of water on the roadway from a recent rainstorm and lost control of her vehicle, causing her to run off the roadway and strike a water-filled ditch. Richardson was able to get out of her vehicle, which sustained heavy damage from both the accident itself and water. Richardson was not injured in the July 30, 7:28 p.m. accident, but damage to her 2009 Toyota Corolla was estimated between $10,000-25,000.
