OWI arrest after accident
According to police, 34-year-old Michael Driskell of Tell City was eastbound on SR 66 near Grandview, approaching CR 550 E, when he ran off the roadway while attempting to message someone on his phone. Driskell’s 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 then struck a ditch and covert, before flipping around and coming to rest in a ditch. Police say Driskell had been drinking prior to the crash. He was transported to the Spencer County Law Enforcement Center, where a breath test showed his ACE to be 0.169. Driskell was then placed under arrest, charged with operating while intoxicated. Damage to his vehicle in the February 17, 12 a.m. crash was estimated between $2,500-5,000.
Ran off road
Adrianne Allen, 29, of Tell City, was northbound on Fulda Shortcut Road when, she later told authorities, she lost control of her 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, causing her to veer off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch. She then struck an embankment, causing between $2,500-5,000 in estimated damages to her vehicle. Allen, however, was not injured in the February 14, 5:30 a.m. accident.
Run-off
Gerald Hamisi, 19, of Bowling Green, KY, was traveling southbound on US 231 near Rockport when he lost control of his 2006 Acura TSX and ran off the west side of the road. His vehicle then struck an embankment before spinning around and coming to a rest. Hamisi was not injured in the February 10, 1:02 a.m. accident, but damages were estimated between $5,000-10,000.
