The Spencer County Historical Society invites everyone to the Spencer County Youth and Community Center in Chrisney on Wednesday, October 23 at 6 p.m. to hear from William Bartelt and Joshua Claybourn, author’s of Abe’s Youth, shaping the future president.

In 1920, a group of historians known as the Lincoln Inquiry was determined to give the future president’s formative years in Spencer County their due. The recently published book by two previously published authors and historians focuses on Lincoln’s life between the ages of seven and 21, and amasses Lincoln Inquiry papers to share second hand accounts from the people who knew Abe during his Indiana years. Bartelt and Claybourn will discuss how Lincoln’s experiences in Spencer County influenced the man he became.

One does not have to be a member of the Spencer County Historical Society to attend.
