Norbert U. Englert, 73, of St. Anthony, passed away at 6:56 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

He was born in St. Anthony on August 19, 1946, to Oscar and Lorena (Mehringer) Englert.

He formerly owned the Brown Derby in Schnellville and Wickliffe Plaza at Patoka Lake, and he also did farming and trucking.

A member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus and the Huntingburg Eagles, he enjoyed going to shooting matches and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Stacy Schipp and fiancé Kevin Sharp of Birdseye; three sons, Keith Englert (Michelle) of Dale, Bradley Englert (Vicki) of Jasper and Jeff Englert (Pam) of Birdseye; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; longtime friend, Norma Mitchell of Eckerty; five sisters, Norma Braunecker (Charles), his twin sister, Linda Luebbehusen (Thomas), Mary Jane Boehman (Gene) and Theresa Schwartz (Leroy), all of Ferdinand, and Betty Ingle (Terry) and Barb Messmer (Don), both of St. Anthony; seven brothers, Kenny Englert (Martha) of Ferdinand, Denny Englert (Donna), Bill Englert (Darlene), Gary Englert and companion Joyce Stillwell, Jim Englert (Leah), all of St. Anthony, Fred Englert and companion Jeannie Breitweiser of Schnellville and Brian Englert (Luanne) of Lamar; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Englert of St. Anthony.

Preceding him in death were one grandson, Keaton Englert; two brothers; Larry and Richard Englert; and one sister, Mae Englert, who died in infancy.

A Mass of Christian burial for Norbert Englert will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, in St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
