Gloria Ann Pounds Young, 87, passed away peacefully in a care facility in Franklin on Saturday, April 4, 2020. She had been in declining health for the last few years.
She was born January 27, 1933, in Kokomo.Gloria grew up in Grandview and attended school in Rockport.
She retired from Welborn Clinic in Evansville. She enjoyed being surrounded by nature and was especially fond of trees, flowers, birds and a beautiful sky. She was very talented in the arts of painting, music, sewing and cooking. She loved reading and searching maps for a travel adventure, while looking forward to spending time with family and friends.
She was a unique and wonderful treasure to all who knew her. She will be missed by her family, as well as her many treasured friends and acquaintances.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Young; her son, Jeffrey Frank; sister, Linda (Ken) McDonald; brother, Timothy (Shirley) Pounds; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Mary Pounds, and her siblings, Patsy Pounds, Larry Pounds and Billy Pounds.
Services in Rockport for Gloria Ann Pounds Young will be held at a later date. She will be buried in Sunset Cemetery.
