Frederick R. Gehlhausen, 74, of Huntingburg, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born March 4, 1946, in Ferdinand, to Merrill and Lucille (Stetter) Gehlhausen. He married Cindy Weisheit on July 1, 1986, in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Fred was a truck driver for 43 years, having worked at Breidenbaugh, Kimball and Jasper Engine. He was a member of the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W. Post No. 2366, and the Teamsters. Fred enjoyed hunting, camping, racing and being with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Gehlhausen of Huntingburg; two sons, Duane (Linda) Gehlhausen and Keith (Annette Marks) Gehlhausen, both of Huntingburg; one daughter, Candi (fiancé: Bryce Beard) Gehlhausen of Ferdinand; his father, Merrill Gehlhausen of Ferdinand; two sisters, Suzi (Harris) Jones of South Carolina and Kathie (Bob) Oser of Holland; two brothers, Stan (Cindy) Gehlhausen of Dale and Mike (Linda) Gehlhausen of Huntingburg; two grandchildren, Jared (Suzette) Gehlhausen and Kellie Gehlhausen, both of Huntingburg; and one great-grandchild, Elijah Gehlhausen.
He was preceded in death by his mother on March 30, 2018.
Funeral services for Fred Gehlhausen will be held at 10 a.m. EDT on Thursday, July 2, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with Minister Zachary Korff officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.
