Robert Lee Marshall, 72, of Gentryville, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Huntingburg, on September 6, 1948, to the late Norman and Pauline (Martin) Marshall.

Robert served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Selvin United Methodist Church and the Ferdinand American Legion Post No. 124. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was a gifted handyman and enjoyed offering these skills to anyone who needed help. Throughout his life, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, in construction, and as a truck driver. He retired from Best Chairs Transit after 23 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Janet Marshall of Gentryville; children, Laura Martin of Gentryville, Kevin Marshall and his wife, Marisa, of Grandview, and Matthew Marshall and his wife, Tisha, of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Landon, Michael, Noah, Peyton, Claire and Samantha; siblings, Nancy Russell, Hope Marshall, Linda Byers and her husband, Wayne, Janice Tucker, Don Marshall, Bill Marshall, Paul Marshall, and Gary Marshall and his wife, Barb; several nieces and nephews, church family and many life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Scales; and brother, Ronald Marshall.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, at Selvin United Methodist Church in Selvin, with Pastors Terry Kamman and Gary Marshall officiating. Burial will take place at Selvin Cemetery in Selvin.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 27, at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Selvin Community Center fund or to the Selvin United Methodist Church Building Fund.
