Dennis Ray “Denny” Hall, Sr., 62, of Derby, passed away on March 6, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a nine-year battle with soft tissue sarcoma.
He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on April 26, 1958, to William “Bill”, Sr. and Clara Mae (King) Hall.
Denny grew up in Cannelton and transferred to Tell City High School, where he graduated in 1976. He attended Indiana State University and worked as a machine operator for Commercial Filters. Denny constructed power lines throughout Indiana for Irby Construction and was a welder for more than 20 years at the former Schwab Safe. Denny was united in marriage to Kimberly Rhodes on September 8, 1979, and was a devoted husband of 42 years. An admired father of three children, he cherished time with his grandchildren, watching them play sports and being a super Papaw.
He loved hunting, four-wheeler riding and building the family cabin. Denny had the best sense of humor and was an exceptional storyteller, especially when sitting around a fire pit.
