Daniel E. Peters, 79, of Newburgh, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Home in Evansville. He was born August 24, 1942, in St. Meinrad, to the late Anthony H. and Edwina (Lueken) Peters.
Daniel worked for JH Rudolph Asphalt and Paving for 25 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh and a past member of the St. John’s Men’s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy (Griese) Peters; children, Amy Peters-Lalios, Stephen (Angie) Peters, Kristi (Brian) Hershberger, Rebecca (Eric) Rose; grandchildren, Celika Peters, Blake D. Peters, Lily Lalios, Marie Lalios, Hayden Hershberger, Ethan Hershberger, Blake H. Hershberger, Jenae Rose, Trey Rose; sisters, Jo Ann Olinger, Mary Rowlett; brother, Eugene Peters; twin brother, David Peters; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Peters; and sister, Clara Mae Hagadorn.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. John’s in Newburgh from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 4. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Joe Ziliak officiating.
