Ohio River Scenic Railway debuted its new Santa Claus Flyer train ride last week, offering visitors a chance to ride the rails with Saint Nick himself. Though this week’s edition of the Spencer County Leader features the full story, the best snapshots can be found here!

Ohio River Scenic Railway is planning a full schedule next year. January will include the New Year’s Express, Arctic Flyer, Lincoln Flyer and Meal Train rides. For more information or to reserve a ticket, visit www.ohiorivertrain.com.

Santa Claus is making regular trips along the tracks every weeknight through Thursday, joining fellow riders on a 30-minute trip at “warp speed” from his namesake town in Indiana to the North Pole to deliver his nice list to the workshop. Kids on the train get the unique opportunity to put in the good word for themselves in person by filling out vouchers for good behavior, and by being good sports during the train ride.
Santa walks up and down the aisles to share personal moments with each fellow rider and family.
This is the latest excursion organized by Ohio River Scenic Railway, but far from the first. The company has been operating out of a depot in Tell City for some time now, and recently acquired property in Evanston to serve as a starting point for railroad tours of Spencer County through to Lincoln City.
