Marion L. Brandenberger, 83, of Richland, went home to Heaven on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Marion was born in Spencer County on July 7, 1939, to Ralph and Eloise (Cline) Brandenberger.

He was raised in Warrick County but spent his adult life in Spencer County and was a faithful member of Richland Christian Church.

Marion was a 1957 graduate of Tennyson High School and earned an associate’s degree from Lockyear Business College. He worked at Alcoa and was responsible for the opening of what is now known as the Heritage Federal Credit Union in 1976, where he was the general manager until his retirement in 1994.

He served as an original member of the Richland Town Council after its incorporation.

Marion loved to garden, was a long-time member of the Evansville Bicycle Club, and Richland Masonic Lodge 702. He also played the role of Santa Claus for area events for many years.

In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye Brandenberger, and his brother-in-law, Rufus Gentry.

He leaves three step-children and their spouses, Rita (Steve) Fox, Jim (Tracy) Stuteville, and Jeff (Julie) Stuteville; his grandchildren, Julie (Chad) Mayse, Ryan (Jennifer) Stuteville, Karen (Chad) DeTalente, Jess Stuteville, Jamie Stuteville (fiancé, Luis Hull), and Josie (Chris) Ivy; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Wilma Gentry and Sandra (Harold) Fleischmann; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends and caregivers, Donna Blair and Tom and Kelly Kuchenbrod. Our family is very grateful for the care and assistance that they have provided over the years to make it possible for Marion to remain in his home, as he wished.

A masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with the funeral service following. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
