Road crews across the county and state were out in force for the year’s first bout of winter weather. The Spencer County Highway Department started dipping into its salt stockpile in preparation for anticipated freezing rain and snow Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, local communities had their own trucks out treating their roads to get ahead of the snow.
