The arctic blast across the country last week left its mark on Spencer County, albeit far less severe than many communities across the continent. Still, sustained freezing temperatures left many telltale signs that winter is kicking into gear. Motorists on State Road 66 might have caught sight of the giant icicles that regularly form on the rocky overhangs between Grandview and Troy. Committed pedestrians likely found that local critters were among the first to leave their mark on Rockport’s sidewalks as most anyone who could hunkered down or found warmer transport.
