Karen G. Winchell, 79, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at The Waters of Rockport.
Karen was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on December 19, 1944, to James and Ida (Payne) Greenwell.
Karen was a member of Bethel Christian Center in Reo and had been an Avon sales representative. Also, she had previously worked as an x-ray technician and a pharmacy technician.
Karen enjoyed traveling, mission trips, playing cards and bingo, or any competitive games. She loved all sports and loved telling stories.
In addition to her parents, Karen in preceded in death by six sisters, Linda Maxey, Sandy Cron, Janet Hermann, Laura Catherine Greenwell, Cheryl Shourds, and Benita Greenwell.
She is survived by five siblings, David (Carol) Greenwell, Allen (Becca) Greenwell, Paul (Lana) Greenwell, June (Rick) Russell, and Lisa Kelley; several nieces, nephews; and friends.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at Bethel Christian Center, 966 N North Reo Dr, Rockport (Reo), IN 47635.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Waters of Rockport’s Activities Department, 815 W. Washington St., Rockport, IN 47635.
Karen’s family would like to thank the staff at The Waters and the Intrepid Hospice staff for their care and compassion for her.
