Jacob “Jake” Charles Straney, 36, of Richland, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
Jake was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on February 28, 1988, to the late John and Debbie (Brown) Straney.
Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, and spending time with his children.
In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his sister, Stacey Rhineburger; and his mother-in-law, Sue Westfall.
Jake is survived by his wife of 10 years, Whitney (Westfall) Straney; his children, Sawyer and Sutton Straney; his brother, John Straney (Juanita); his aunt, Rosa Kaysinger (Owen); his uncle, William Straney; several cousins, nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Rick Westfall; his sisters-in-law, Dana Utzman (Alan) and Krista Sabelhaus (Chris); and brother-in-law, Brandon Pope.
Services are 2 p.m., Saturday, August 17, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Brett Cieslack officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
