Garland Ray Ranger, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Scenic Hills at The Monastery in Ferdinand.

He was born July 15, 1941, in Dale, to Raymond Ranger and Alleen (Kemp) Ranger Coffey. He was a 1959 graduate of Holland High School and worked as a supervisor for D.M.I. in Huntingburg and Blackstone, Virginia. Garland was very talented in any kind of woodworking projects, he enjoyed watching trains, anything NASCAR, and going to car shows as he owned several classic cars over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rose Marie (Dale) Ranger Wolfe and Norma “Jean” Ranger Huddleston.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Charlie) Jones and Teresa (Kevin) Morrison, both of Huntingburg; two grandsons, Drake (Karah) Morrison and Chase (Erin) Morrison; one great-grandchild, Anders Morrison; two step-great-grandchildren, Collin Helms and Mia Helms; and one brother-in-law, Gene Huddleston of Columbus.

Funeral services for Garland Ranger will be held at 2 p.m. E.D.T. Sunday, April 27, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with visitation held from 12 until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fairmount Cemetery and Rev. Albert Madden will officiate at the service.
