Wilfred “Sonny” Bosecker, a lifelong resident of Rockport born on February 28, 1938, to Paul and Amelia Bosecker, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of 87.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Ferguson, and his stepdaughter, Robin Lawrence.
Sonny was a cherished member of Mount Zion Church and a devoted family man. He led a life full of hard work and passion. He spent many years as a dedicated over-the-road truck driver and a true farmer at heart; he found great joy in working his garden and sharing his harvest with his friends and family. Sonny’s other passions included a love for antique tractors, and a unique talent for working on magnetos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary; his children, Tim Bosecker and his wife, Terri, of Rockport, Connie Roberts and her husband, Jeff, of Newburgh, Donna Beverly of Knoxville, Tennessee, Mary Lou Daniels and her husband, Larry, of Monroe, Louisiana, and Robert “Bob” Lawrence and his wife, Cindy, of Rockport; and his sister Ellen Jean Ferguson. Sonny also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, and from 9 a.m. until the time-of-service Thursday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 18, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Jim Ahl officiating. Burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
