Mata Elizabeth “Betty” Coultas, 97, of Chrisney, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Transcendent North in Boonville.
Betty was born in Evansville on March 9, 1928, to Ferman and Nannie (Harris) Yearby.
A founding member of Chrisney Baptist Church, Betty was a member of D.A.R.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Coultas, who passed away in 2000, and her siblings, Virginia Ahl, Ferman Yearby, William Yearby, Donald Yearby, Harry Yearby and Elenora Yearby, who died as an infant.
She is survived by her children, Susan Fortwendel, Elaine Coultas, Brenda Coultas (Scott Fierman), Peggy (Chris) Politano, and Kenneth “Kenny” Coultas; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Yearby.
Services were held on Saturday, October 18, at Chrisney Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Rice officiating. Burial followed at Bloomfield Cemetery.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home- Youngblood Chapel of Chrisney was entrusted with care.
