Anita M. Ahl, 79, of Rockport, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Anita was born on October 17, 1943, to the late Ed and Mildred (Burpo) Schoolcraft.

She was a 1961 graduate of Chrisney High School and a member of Bloomfield Wesleyan Church, as well as a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Anita was a homemaker for several years before serving as the Executive Director for the Rockport Housing Authority.

In her free time, Anita enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening, reading, and playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to cook, was very active in her church, and liked to sing.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, and a sister-in-law.

Anita is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Ahl Jr.; her children, Kim Seiler and her husband, John and Jim Ahl and his wife, Laura; her grandchildren, James Ahl IV and his wife, Chelsey, John Seiler III and Aaron Seiler and his wife, Felicia; her great-granddaughters, Saylor and Brettlynn Ahl; her brother, Jarvis Schoolcraft and his wife, Ann; her brother-in-law, Willie Capo; and her sister-in-law, Nina Schoolcraft.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Paul Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation is 3 until 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, with an Order of Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m., and from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
