Beverly Ann Beard, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and servant of God, passed away on August 24, 2025. She was born in Evansville on August 14, 1951, to Billy and Pearl Scales, and lived in Spencer County.

Beverly grew up with her younger brother Danny Scales (Jane) and baby sister, Tammy Sosh (Mike). She graduated from South Spencer High School in 1969 and married her high school sweetheart, Terry Beard, on June 14, 1969. Together they built a life centered around family and faith. She touched everyone she met with kindness, warmth, and a touch of silliness.

Beverly was the proud mother of David Beard and Stephanie Johnson (Scott). She was a hard-working stay-at-home mother and poured her heart into her family, always putting her children first and offering unwavering support, wisdom, and encouragement.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Emma, Zack, Zane (Paige), Macy, Zander, Radley and Livia. Beverly was looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild in January with her grandson Zane and wife, Paige Beard. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces Jennifer, Christy, Amanda, Becky, and her nephews Danny and Michael.

The entire family would spend many Sunday afternoons and holidays together enjoying each other’s company and Grandma Pearl’s meals. A lifelong believer, Beverly served faithfully at Bethel Christian Center, where she played the piano for many years. She also served by playing the piano at the nursing home, which eventually helped care for her. She spent years serving at Bethel Church Camp during the summer as one of the ladies who worked in the kitchen. She loved children and helped serve at church with the children and teens when she could.

Beverly’s parents, Billy and Pearl, preceded her in death.

Her family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Beverly’s life and honor the beautiful soul she was at Boultinghouse Funeral Home at 527 Main St. Rockport from 12 to 2 p.m. with service staring at 2 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, August 30. Burial will follow at Alexander Cemetery.

Condolences can be made to the family at www.BoultinghouseFuneralHome.com.
