Colin “Mitch” Kelly passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Twin Rivers Nursing & Rehab Center in Owensboro, KY, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Mitch was born on April 15, 1952, in Dale to Vernon and Johanna (Hunter) Kelly.
Mitch served our country honorably in the United States Marines and was a deeply devoted patriot. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. Mitch was a member of Rockport American Legion Post No. 254, AMVET Post No. 75, and also a member of the Eagles No. 4168 in Owensboro, KY.
Mitch loved to hunt and fish and was known to tell a good story from time to time. He loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
Mitch was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherry Diane Kelly; sister, Ramona Howard; brother, Rudy Jackson; and great-granddaughter Paisley VanHorn (Tea Cup).
Mitch is survived by his sons James Turner (Angie) and Steven Kirby (Tena); sister, Shannon Burdett; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Services for Mitch will be held Friday, April 24, 3 p.m., at Boultinghouse Funeral Home 527 Main Street Rockport with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on April 24 from noon to 3 p.m.
