Cornerstone Preschool in Chrisney is starting its 17th year of operation this fall. The preschool is scheduled to open this school year on September 1 — with some important changes given the COVID-19 concerns of today.

Cornerstone United Methodist Church has installed the O2 Prime air quality system in each of the church’s HVAC units to improve air quality throughout the facility. This same air purification system has been installed in North Spencer Elementary and Tell City Elementary schools, and has been shown to safely inactivate viruses, molds and bacteria in the air. This system also helps remove other airborne pollutants.

Additional safety steps have been taken by modifying daily procedures to account for recommendations from health agencies for social distancing, hand hygiene, workspace separation and drop-off protocols. Updated and intensified cleaning schedules and methods have also been implemented to further aid the efforts to improve child safety from the COVID-19 virus.

Since its inception, child education and safety have been two of the foundational principles of Cornerstone Preschool. The preschool continues to dedicate themselves to excellence in education and offer state of the art systems for the safety of those attending Cornerstone UMC facilities.
