Rear-end collision

At 12:30 p.m. Sunday, October 4, Kristina Herzog, of Cannelton, was northbound on the I-64 overpass on SR 162. She failed to notice the 2002 Chevy 1500 in front of her stopping for traffic and her 2014 Chevy Cruz rear-ended it. EMS was called to the scene to check on the driver of the Chevy 1500, Norma Held of Tell City, and a passenger in her vehicle, but both refused treatment. Herzog was not injured, but her vehicle was totaled. The Chevy 1500 sustained rear bumper damage. Ferdinand VFD and Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service assisted.

Jasper man charged with stalking

On Thursday, October 1, police arrested Leonard E. Schwenk, 71, of 301 W. 6th Street in Jasper, on a warrant charging him with stalking (level 6 felony) and two counts of invasion of privacy (class A misdemeanors). Charges stem from a September 24 complaint from a woman who obtained a protective order against Schwenk. He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.

Man injured in intersection accident

Haley S. Kline, 23, of Jasper was northbound on St. Charles Street and stopped her 2015 Nissan Pathfinder at the four-way stop at 36th Street. Jose Padilla Garcia, 51, also of Jasper, was southbound on Portersville Road and stopped his 2003 Chevy Tahoe at the four-way stop at 36th Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection but police were unable to determine which driver was at fault. Garcia was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment of a leg injury. Both vehicles were totaled in the 7:38 a.m., October 5 accident.
