Hubert H. Goepferich III, 69, formerly of Ferdinand, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hubert was born in Ferdinand on October 14, 1951, to Hubert and Romilda (Petry) Goepferich Jr., both of whom preceded him in death.

He married Charlene Sitzman on June 3, 1973, in St. Meinrad.

At the age of 16, Hubert started his career in construction while working with his father. He graduated from St. Ferdinand High School in 1969. After graduation he was a six year member of the Indiana National Guard. He and his wife owned and operated the Sunrise Child Enrichment Day Care Center in Ferdinand before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio where he was a Boy Scout leader and retired from KFI Construction.

He loved working with his computers and electronics. He was very family oriented and loved attending his grandchildren’s various sporting events. He was also an organ donor.

Hubert is survived by his wife, Charlene Goepferich of Cincinnati; daughter, Vicki Clark of Phoenix, AZ; son Jim Goepferich of Loveland, OH; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Clayton) Clark-Wehrum and Samuel Clark; sisters, Elaine (Richard) Begle of Dale, Susan (John) Vaal of St. Meinrad and Janet (Hilbert) Mullen of Ferdinand.

Visitation for Hubert H. Goepferich III will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. EDT om Saturday, April 9, at Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Santa Claus, with a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. EDT. There will be a time of fellowship in the church’s Christian Life Center following the Service.
