Jarvis D. Schoolcraft, 83, of Rockport, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at The Waters of Rockport.
Jarvis was born in Martinsville on October 7, 1940, to Edward and Mildred (Burpo) Schoolcraft.
He attended Bethel Christian Center in Reo, and had worked as a truck driver for Foster Brothers.
In addition to his parents, Jarvis was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Gasaway) Schoolcraft, and his grandson, James Woolsey. He was also the last surviving of all his siblings.
Jarvis is survived by his children, Yvonna Thomason, Kim Woolsey (Stacey), and James Woolsey (Susan); his grandchildren, Samantha Moore (Mike), Kara Thomason, Kendra Williams (Tom), Tiffani Woolsey, and Brittany Guffy; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Ellerbrooke, Bryden Woolsey, Chance Moore, Savannah Moore, Corey Willis, Korbin Lester, Aiva Lester, Xavier Williams, Infinite Planke, and Rayvlynn Rose Planke; his great-great-granddaughter, Presley Woolsey; and a special family member, Patricia Everett.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chrisney, with Pastor Walter Phillips officiating.
