Linda Ruth Ryan, 83, of Grandview, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Born on January 7, 1943, Linda grew up in Rumsey, Kentucky and graduated from Calhoun High School. She attended beauty school, later fulfilling her dream of owning and operating her own beauty shop.
After marrying the love of her life, Richard Ryan, they made their home in Grandview, where they built a lifetime of memories together. She devoted over 30 years of dedicated service to Spencer County, working for the Highway Department, for the Auditor’s office, for the Treasurer’s office, and for the election board. She took great pride in serving her community with integrity, compassion, and a willingness to help others.
While Linda valued her career, her greatest accomplishments were found in the love she shared with her family. She loved family gatherings, traveling, and spending time with family at Lake of Egypt. She was blessed to cruise with family to Alaska and the Bahamas, fly in a hot air balloon, and experience countless other fun adventures!
She found comfort and strength in Christ as a member of Little Pigeon Baptist Church, live streaming the service when she was no longer able to attend in person.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ryan, parents, Dee Martin and Esther Mauzy, brothers, Carmen Bryant and Weldon Mauzy, sister, Dorothy Lindsey, brothers-in-law, Lawrence Lindsey, Robert Ryan and Bill Ryan, and sister-in-law, Lola Doyle.
She is survived by her son, Richard Ryan (Candy), her daughter, Kim Hay (Barry), grandchildren, Ashlee Ryan, Derek Ryan (Kristen), Morgan Ryan, Melanie Roos (Andrew), and Dylan Hay (Kristen), great grandchildren, Madi Brassard, Tucker Brassard, Jenna Ryan, Derek Totten, Wesley Roos, and Ivy Roos, sisters-in-law, Beverly Mauzy and Barbara Ryan, brother-in-law, Jay Doyle, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Services were held Monday, August 3, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Larry Lindsey officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery in Grandview.
Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her sense of adventure, and the warmth she extended to others.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice, SWIRCA, and Comfort Keepers for the care and comfort provided to Linda and her caregivers. Their support and guidance made it possible for Linda to spend her finals days in the comfort of her home.
