Lucy Wilsbacher, 99, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville.
She was born on August 19, 1920, in Rockport, to the late Harry Daniels and Ethel (Gager) Daniels.
Lucy was a life-long member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport. She was a recipient of the Bruté Award and also volunteered for many years at Miller’s Merry Manor. Although she moved to Evansville twelve years ago, Lucy enjoyed keeping up with the news in her hometown through telephone conversations with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Wilsbacher, in 1965; and her sister, Betty Gaston.
Survivors include her son, Mike Wilsbacher; her daughter, Pat Carter (Keith); two grandchildren, Jenny Smith (Luke) and Michael Carter (Lynn); five great-grandchildren, Carson, Gavin, and Claire Smith, and Liam and Caleb Carter, all of Evansville; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services for Lucy Wilsbacher will be held in St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, on Saturday, October 5, with burial rites following in the church cemetery.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport was in charge of all arrangements.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the many individuals at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville, Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville, Heart to Heart Hospice, and St. Mary’s Home Health, who served Lucy during her illness, as well as Dr. Karl Sash and his wonderful staff who lovingly cared for her for many years.
