Spencer County Dispatch received a call at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, that shots had been fired at a residence on Carpenter Avenue in Rockport.
Units arrived and found that a male subject had fired a firearm inside of the residence. The subject refused to come out after officers gave commands to do so. No other subjects were inside the residence at the time officers arrived. The male subject came to the door and requested officers to shoot him. After speaking with the male subject on the phone, he agreed to come out of the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Agencies assisting the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office were the Rockport Police Department, Indiana State Police, Perry County Sheriff and Spencer County EMS.
