Mary Ann Uebelhor, age 87, of Schnellville, passed away at 10:58 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Mary Ann was born in Spencer County on March 25, 1932, to Theodore and Marie (Lueken) Pund. She married Denis L. Uebelhor on January 15, 1952, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2013.

Mary Ann was a 1950 graduate of Dale High School. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Gossards and General Electric (GE) for several years.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Quilting Committee, St. Ann’s Society, and the Schnellville Community Club. She and her husband received the Brute Award for their service in the Catholic faith.

She loved quilting, flowers, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving  are six children, Denis (Mary Lee) Uebelhor, Ferdinand, Edward (Kathy) Uebelhor, Schnellville, Charles Uebelhor, Schnellville, Becky (Roch) Ubelhor, Schnellville, Perry Uebelhor, Jasper, Debbie (Doug) Brosmer, St. Anthony; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Terri (Ken) Dicus, Selvin; three brothers, Joe Pund, Huntingburg, Francis Pund, St. Anthony and Ted (Nadine) Pund, Chandler; and two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Pund, Jasper and Mary Ann Ketzel, Santa Claus.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Uebelhor, and two brothers, Adrian and Leroy Pund.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mary Ann Uebelhor will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, October 25, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
