Mary Jean Raaf, 93, of Grandview, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Brickyard Health Care in Tell City.

Jean was born in Grandview on January 2, 1931, to Fred and Mary (Hasenmyer) Sauter.

A member of Grandview United Methodist Church and Grandview Civic Association, she was the branch manager of Citizen’s National Bank of Tell City – Troy Branch until her retirement in 1995.

Jean enjoyed sewing, reading and hand crafts, and she loved IU basketball.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Sauter and Mary E. Jones; her stepfather, Leslie Jones; her husband, James “Jim” Raaf; and her son-in-law, Raymond Pfeifer.

Jean is survived by her son, David (Roxi) Raaf; daughter, Laura Anne Pfeifer; grandchildren, Shannon (Nicholas) Byrd, Bethany (Bradley) LeVrier, Micah Raaf, Philip (Reagan) Raaf, Ryan Pfeifer, and Cody (Kasi) Pfeifer; great-grandchildren, Chloe Wilkinson, Shelby Wilkinson, Kinley Pfeifer, Jacelyn Pfeifer, Brayden LeVrier, and Beckett Pfeifer; and her sister, Ruth Edwards.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Newtonville.

Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, and from 9 until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
