Mazel Katheryn Beckort, 91, of Rockport, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport.
She was born in Spencer County on May 25, 1929, to the late Charles Richard Beckort and Katie (Gebhard) Beckort.
A graduate of Rockport High School, she had been a bookkeeper for Jim Nichols, Erwin Services, and Rockport Trading Center. She was a member of Larkin Baptist Church and taught high school Sunday School class for decades.
Mazel is survived by her sister, Rosie Beckort, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Miller Ewin, Alma Beckort Crosley, John Beckort, Bill Beckort, Herman Beckort, Maggie Beckort Pekinpaugh, and Clara Beckort.
Services for Mazel Beckort will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Paul Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Patronville.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
