Michael “Mike” Thomas Blissett, 86, of Rockport, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home with family by his side.
Mike was born in Rothwell, England on June 11, 1939, to Thomas and Phyllis (Childs) Blissett.
Mike was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Newburgh American Legion Kapperman Post No. 44 and Eureka Masonic Lodge No. 397.
He retired from Alcoa after several years of service. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed camping, traveling, and going to Sturgis.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Blissett, who passed away in 2021; his son, Kenneth Blissett, who passed away in 2020; and his half-brother, Barry Childs.
Mike is survived by his daughter-in-law, Julie Blissett; his grandsons, Eric and Jared Blissett; his great-grandchildren, Sophie, Mia, Iris and Aspen Blissett; and his dear friend, Diane Orange.
A Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, followed by a funeral service with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow at James Parker Cemetery.
Visitation is 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the funeral home.
