The North Spencer Elementary Performing Arts Group is hard at work preparing for the Friday debut of Disney’s “Finding Nemo Jr.” The show runs at Heritage Hills High School on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday has two performances, one at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 and are available on tututix.com. Limited tickets will be available at the door.
The North Spencer Elementary Performing Arts consists of fourth through eighth grade students at the North Spencer Elementary Schools. These students not only perform on the stage, but also run the backstage and help with the set design and creation for the show. This year’s cast contains over 120 students from all four North Spencer elementary schools.
“Finding Nemo Jr.” is a musical adaptation of the popular 2003 Pixar film, with plenty of opportunities for young actors and actresses to get lively. The play will tell the story of Marlin the clownfish on his quest into the vast ocean to find his son, Nemo, who has been taken to Sydney, Australia. Marlin is joined by Dory, a forgetful but relentlessly optimistic partner that encourages him to “Just Keep Swimming” in the face of hardship.
