It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul David Leslie Sr., who passed peacefully in his home on the morning of August 19, 2025.
He was born on October 14, 1953, in Daviess County, Kentucky, and lived a life filled with love, devotion, and service to others. David was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
David was married to the love of his life, Brenda, for 53 years. He was a man of strength, loyalty, and was well known as the community mechanic. He had a passion for hunting, riding his bike, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Whether making TikToks with his grandchildren or driving cross-country multiple times, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his kids or grandkids.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Woodruff Leslie and Alberta Ruth Leslie; his son, Paul David Leslie Jr.; and siblings: Luther Leslie, Ronnie Leslie, Sue Ford, Juanita Leslie, Larry Leslie, and Donna Linne.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Leslie; daughter, Stacy Bannister; siblings, Janice Dagne and Doris Bingle (Ronnie); grandchildren, Laney Trepanier, Tyler Leslie (Olivia), Mercy Lawson, Maya Lawson, Dakota Leslie, and Nevaeh Leslie; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service wa held on Monday, August 25, at 2 p.m. at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, visitation began at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hackleman Cemetery.
David’s legacy of strength, loyalty, and courage will live on through all who knew and loved him.
