If someone were to pick which fun activity that most accurately described the boys track sectional, however, it would probably be “Tag”.
Every team, including Heritage Hills and South Spencer, was trying their best to catch Jasper.
None could.
The Patriots and Rebels did experience their share of success but finished a distance fourth and seventh, respectively, in the Jasper Sectional last Thursday night at Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium.
The host Wildcats won 10 events and piled up 177.5 points — nearly 70 ahead of runner up Tell City (109) — to claim the title. Placing third through 10th were Forest Park 108.5, Heritage Hills 71.5, Perry Central 71, Northeast Dubois 39.5, South Spencer 19, Southridge 14, Shoals 10 and Loogootee 3.
