Luce Elementary held its annual Community Wellness Fair Thursday evening. The school was a hive of activity going in to the long weekend as representatives from local organizations manned booths throughout the school, offering information and services to parents as well as candy and other goodies to kids.

The school gym, as well as the front lawn, was filled with inflatables. These included everything from bouncy houses to giant slides and a mechanism to keep balls airborne with air pressure.

Students also got a chance to see some exotic reptiles from Boonville-based Moon and Sun Critters, as well as try their hand at CPR courtesy of Owensboro Health Hospital. South Spencer High School kept the hallways lively with a few patrols by the Rebel Robotics Team’s creations, and the school’s welding class showed off their skills from a safe distance outside as well.

The event continued till dark, with many prizes awaiting those who remained for the raffle drawing at the close of the fair.

Luce Elementary’s shindig served as a welcome start to the holiday weekend, which was filled with plenty more activities across the county.
