Photo Gallery: Lincoln Pioneer Village comes to life

The Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum kicked off its summer season in style Saturday, beginning with a bright sunny morning and plenty of shade from the old trees on the grounds. Visitors could also cool off on the front porch of one of the cabins when needed, but most were too busy trying to keep tabs on all the sights to see and people to meet.

Amanda Kincaid-Prentice cuts honeycomb from a beehive, demonstrating some of the ways early Hoosiers kept bees and harvested their precious honey to add some flavor to the pioneer diet.
